What was your favorite class and why?
My favorite class was SPAN 2070: Intermediate Spanish for the Medical and Health Professions. I loved the unique opportunity to learn and experience how Spanish would be used specifically in medical and health professions.
What is your main extracurricular activity and why is it important to you?
My research with Professor Gary Evans under the Rawlings program. We're exploring potential adaptive benefits to growing up in poverty through a neuroscience/psychology lens. This research goes against the typical deficit model that poverty is usually seen under, so it's a unique and special project for us.
What have you accomplished as a Cornell student that you are most proud of?
I am most proud of working with Julie Simmons-Lynch, the cognitive science program manager, to start the Cognitive Science club. Even after I graduate, I hope our club can continue to help create community within our small (but mighty) major.
If you were to offer advice to an incoming first year student, what would you say?
Have no fear! Now is the best time to put yourself out there. Talk to that person, apply for that position, audition for that club ... there are so many doors open and waiting for you to walk through them.
Every year, our faculty nominate graduating Arts & Sciences students to be featured as part of our Extraordinary Journeys series. Read more about the Class of 2026.
